Description: As assistive technology becomes available in mainstream campus computing labs, the support staffs of those labs are charged with installing and maintaining that technology. This two-day training is for campus technical support staff charged with installing and maintaining assistive technology on their campus Windows operating systems. We will focus on the details of installation, such as system requirements, application incompatibilities, and other problem areas. Site licenses and network installations will also be discussed where relevant. Participants will be able to do the following:
  • describe the various ways assistive technology is installed in a variety of Windows operating systems
  • identify the various problems and workarounds when installing assistive technology in multi-user environments
  • identify the various ways assistive technology is configured during installation and for individual users
Intended for campus tech support people who install and maintain assistive technology in mainstream labs.
Reimbursement Level: Please be advised that reimbursement may be available for hotel and travel expenses for California community college Disabled Student Services Faculty and Staff.
