Description: This is a one-day training on assistive computer technology (ACT) in which a general overview of concepts and practices related to ACT and higher education will be covered. Participants of this training will:
  • Learn about common categories of ACT
  • Get hands-on practice with different ACT�s
  • Gain insight into the function and use of different types of ACT
  • Learn about common issues surrounding the use of ACT in educational environments
  • Understand common challenges of students who use ACT
  • Gain insight into the role of ACT in communication and education
This training is intended for High Tech Center Specialists and other staff who work with AT, ACT, or Alternate Media and need a better understanding of basic ACT concepts and practices.
Reimbursement Level: Please be advised that reimbursement is only available for travel expenses for California community college Disabled Student Services Faculty and Staff. Hotel expenses will not be reimbursed.
