| Description: |
Scanning a textbook is just the first step in creating electronic text. Once you have created a picture of the text, the next step is to use an optical character recognition program to decode the little black marks on the page. We will explore and compare two good OCR programs: OmniPage and FineReader. You can compare and contrast the two programs and learn the principles of doing OCR.
Participants will be able to do the following:
- understand the OCR process
- use the basic functions of OmniPage and FineReader
- use zones to facilitate the OCR process
- compare and contrast OmniPage and FineReader
Designed for Alternate Media Specialists who are creating electronic text. |
