| Description: |
While the popularity of audio-based instructional materials increases, so too does the number of programs that can be used to create audio files and provide audio-based access to e-text. While some e-text and audio format players come with big price tags, there are several players available for low cost or even free of charge. This one day training will provide an overview of different Text-to-Speech (TTS) applications. The differences between supported media types and specific player functionality will be examined. Participants will:
- Explore the features and usability of different reading systems
- Learn of low cost e-text and audio players for use in High Tech Centers and for recommending to students for personal use at home
- Understand the key usability features of different audio media formats
- Gain knowledge of which players are suitable for playing different media types
