| Description: |
Microsoft PowerPoint is a commonly used presentation tool within the higher education community, however, Web-based PowerPoint presentations do not provide for an accessible environment. Two export utilities, the Office Accessibility Wizard and LecShare Pro, allow for the conversion of PowerPoint files into accessible, Web-based presentations. Using these tools, content authors can create their materials using Microsoft Office and then convert these documents into Web-based versions that are accessible and can be viewed by individuals using just a Web browser (no plug-ins required!).
Participants will be able to do the following:
- learn the installation and configuration of the Office Accessibility Wizard and LecShare Pro
- use the Office Accessibility Wizard and LecShare Pro to convert PowerPoint presentations to accessible Web-based formats
- use LecShare Pro to develop accessible multimedia-enhanced presentations with captioning
- current limitations of the export utilities
