Description: Sonocent is a brand new audio note taker software program. It works by capturing spoken words into audio bars that can be colored, shifted, deleted etc. It also enables the user to combine the audio bars with PowerPoint slides, written notes, audio uploaded from the web, and personal recording. Additionally, the current version enables the user to convert personal audio notes into text via Dragon.

In all, its an exciting and versatile new program, but it can also be overwhelming for a new user. Through this workshop, we will examine the basics of the program along with exploring, simplifying, and discovering invaluable uses of the software for both note taking and writing support.

Participants will be able to do the following:
  • Identify ways of enhancing note taking skills
  • Identify ways of converting digital notes into interactive learning support
  • Identify ways of enhancing writing skills with multi-sensory templates
  • Identify strategies that mainstream instructors can implement to provide critical support and review for all students especially students with recognized and unrecognized learning disabilities
Intended for community college staff who primarily support students with learning disabilities and faculty who teach general education classes
Reimbursement Level: Please be advised that reimbursement will not be provided.
