Description: The MacOS and iOS platforms offer users many built-in accessibility tools: VoiceOver, Dictation, and the Magnifier, to name a few. With the help of these features, college students can become more productive in their coursework and access their course content. In this two-day training, participants will learn what the Apple accessibility features do and how they can help students with different needs. At the end of this training, participants will understand and be able to perform these tasks:
  • Accessing and adjusting the magnification settings for specific scenarios.
  • Controlling text-to-speech playback for webpages, documents, and email by using the keyboard (macOS) and swipe gestures (iOS)
  • Navigating and reading documents with VoiceOver
  • Dictating and controlling the computer or mobile device with Apple dictation
  • Utilizing Assistive Touch feature (iOS) to access apps and Apple settings
Reimbursement Level: Please be advised that reimbursement may be available for hotel and travel expenses for California community college Disabled Student Services Faculty and Staff.
